While strolling the Sourcing floor at the Magic Trade show, DK design Knit was another awesome fabric supplier that I stumbled upon. A family- run business based in Los Angeles, they have been supplying beautiful, delicate, and intricate knitted textiles to the fashion industry, both domestically and internationally, for over twenty years.
Supima cotton, linen blends, silks blends, wool and cashmere blends, tencel, melange, rayon, streaky, tri-blends…. the list of fabrics in which they work is impressive.
They specialize in sheer and light weight knits, with a fine attention to detail and quite a selection of beautiful knit-to-order designs.
Additionally, they offer custom work and boast reasonable minimums; based on weight, it usually rounds out to about 16 rolls per design. However, they are willing to do a 20 yd sample piece, which in my experience, is rather generous. (30yds to 50yds is the sample yardage requirement I’m used to seeing.)
