Last Friday I didn’t publish a fashion business owner musing. Did you notice? Probably. You guys are awesome and your loyalty to our blog is amazing.
I’m sorry I didn’t post. I really wanted to. But last Thursday and Friday were crazy days for me, both personal and business related. If I had my shit together a little more I would have had the damn thing written a week or two in advance. But I’m not that on top of things, unfortunately.
I just couldn’t manage to get something written and I felt really guilty about it. I had to remind myself that sometimes we slip up. Sometimes as business owners we simply don’t to what we say we’re going to do.
As a rule, I try to avoid that. If I say I’m going to do something, I do it. But every now and then it just doesn’t work out that way.
Do you know the feeling?
Do you sometimes find yourself with the best intentions but nothing to show for them?
Yeah, me too. It happens to all of us from time to time.
The key is not to let it happen often. And not to let yourself feel awful when it does. We’re not perfect. We’re human. And just because we have a business doesn’t mean we’re any less human than anyone else.
We have bad days, hurt feelings, missed goals, weaknesses, struggles, and indecision.
If we allow these things to take over, we’ll never reach the goals we have. But if we allow ourselves to pretend these things don’t exist for us, we’re in just as bad of a place.
Nothing is ever perfect. Nothing will pan out exactly how we originally thought it would. Nothing will happen without slip-ups and missed opportunities.
It’s our job as business owners to recognize this fact, accept it, and just continue to move forward.
Don’t let one slip up or one wrong turn or one poor decision set the course for your business or your life.
All my love and encouragement,
