When it comes to running your business, it is really easy to do things like bunker down in your studio, spend all your time emailing buyers, and use your emails as a your task list.
The problem with this process, is that you’re not making it a priority to be aware of what you’re customers are saying and doing. In order to grow, your business to constantly observe what your current and potential customers are doing and saying to one another.
You need to understand their frustrations, hardships, desires, and dreams if you ever hope to be able to sell to them.
So use platforms like Twitter and Instagram to follow discussions, pay attention to not only what people say but what they do, the faces they make, and the length of time they spend looking at something when you’re at a trunk show or other events.
Observing your industry and your customers should be a constant exercise.
