Do you wait for things to be perfect in your business?
Starting a blog, posting a video, launching a website, producing samples, trying a new marketing idea… if the circumstances aren’t exactly how you imagine them to be (the number of hours available, the design, the absolute proof that it will work), do you find yourself saying that you’ll just “hold off for now”?
Do you stop yourself?
It’s so common to wait for the situation to be better, to plan to do it when the time is exactly right, to tell yourself that it will be better when…
It’s a safety net. Fear is creeping in and it becomes easy to believe you’re not ready, for whatever reason.
Here’s the secret:
Perfect never happens.
Nothing is perfect.
There is no perfect time. No perfect circumstance. No one has it fully together. No one has checked off every box on their task list. No one is ever really ready. No one is ever really done.
Why do you feel like you need to be?!
It took me a little while to realize this for myself. But when I did, I realized that everything is a work in progress and that’s OK.
You don’t need to be perfect in order to move forward.
The dangerous part about waiting for “perfect” is that time passes by whether you like it or not.
And if you keep waiting, you’re going to wake up one day and realize you’ve been “holding off” for most of your life.
“Let’s do what we can, with what we’ve got, and stop worrying about perfection.”
That’s the best piece of quotable Instagram advice I’ve seen lately.
Take it to heart, remember that you’re doing awesome things, and never be so focused on perfection that you are too fearful to take a step forward.

Thank you for this great piece of wisdom. I’ve been analyzing a big business move for quite awhile. At some point you just have to jump, right? Instagram is wonderful and a pain in the butt at the same time. Business owners create the perfect image and you really have no idea what’s happening behind the scenes. Thanks for the inspiration!
