Friday Business Tip: Focus on Business

Focus on business

It’s easy to believe that we all focus on our businesses. We think about them all the time, we work hard towards making them succeed; but focusing is an actually skill. If you can learn to really focus on your business, you’ll be amazed at what you see happening.

When it comes to focus, there are two ways you’ll being doing it:

  • Focus on the day-to-day- Remember to start your day by documenting one or two big things to do that day. Eh-hem, sorting emails does not count.  These two things should be big picture business development tasks that have a direct impact on the growth of your business. Put time in your calendar each day called “focus time” and work on these two things. No emails, No social media, not phone; just you and your important tasks.
  • Focus on the big picture– remember what your business goals are (write them down!) and measure all the little things you do every day to those large, overarching goals. It they don’t align, then stop doing those little things
